Scrapblog

In reading Parent's magazine they listed some great sites for scraping booking on your computer. I used Scrapblog.com, it's really fun and easy, oh and best part it's free.
Here are a few pictures that I have created.

Cousins

Taylor and Gracie come over for a little bit at our house. They both really enjoy playing with Haylee, and of course Haylee loves having big kids to play with.

Can I take your order?

Haylee's new favorite toy! A grill with all the food. It was Taylor's and Gracie's. Taylor said he wanted to "present it to her," and then "[he'll] be her favorite." Well she definitelly LOVED the gift, whether or not Taylor is now her favorite we'll have to see!
So if you come over make sure you have your order ready, because she will ask "what's ya make?"

Uncle Colin Moved!

Colin got a job up here where we live, of course because he wanted to be closer to me! Ok, not really. But I am really excited. He will be able to spend more time with the girls. I remember the first time I saw him interact with Haylee; he was so gentle and loving. And now he gets to do the same with Sophie. My girls will definitely have a good time with Uncle Colin around

Roomies and 2008 Babies

We lived together, got married, and now are having babies in the same year!
Jennifer Lessing-Omo and Brennon; Jen Will and Baby Girl (Ellison/Elly); and Me and Sophie
Brennon is going to be a lucky boy with all the cute girls he is surround by! :)

"No wash hair!"

Haylee loves baths but hates getting her face wet, which happens when I wash her hair.
When I tell her it's bath time, she always points to her hair and says, "no wash hair!"
So in hopes that I could wash her hair without major drama I bought this hat which is suppose to kept the water out of her eyes. Well she wore it, but when it came time to wash her hair, water still got in her face and there was still crying. It was our first time using it, maybe it will get better!

Home is where the heart is

Though my parents are divorced and remarried, from the beginning we have shared holidays and special occassions all together. This is a blessing to not only my brother and I, but also to my children. I needed to get something from IWU, so we all got together at my mom's house for dinner! My mom's house is definitely where my heart is. My parents and grandparents built that house. It is a very special place to me. Calming, warm, and inviting. It's really cool to see Haylee play in the same yard that I did growing up.

Mom always has beautiful flowers

Big beautiful eyes, like her daddy

3 Months--Really 3.5 months

I have been attempting to take a picture of Sophie every month to see her changing.
Well I have been slacking a bit, and got her 3 month picture at 3 1/2 months. Probably
not much difference in a couple of weeks, but though I would mention it none the same.
There is NOTHING in this world more precious than seeing your child smile, and Soph has a great one to share!

Training had a setback

Well I had thought that we had reached potty training success~Although she still does use the potty occassionally, it is not as consistent as it was during the first week. I sought advice on one of my favorite mommy sites, Mamasource, about keeping Haylee focused while on the potty. They gave me some ideas, but also warned me that she might stop using the potty and may have to do the training all over again in the future. Turns out they were right. I'm not disappointed in this setback, I recognize that when she is ready she will start again.

On a related note, Ryan heard on the John Tesh Radio show about a lady that does potty training in a day, with a 98% success rate. She claimed that you should never ask your child if they "need to go potty," because it makes the child feel like they are out of control of their own body. As to what you are suppose to say, I guess you either have to hire the lady or buy a book with the name of "potty train your child in a day." I'm guessing you ask if they want to go sit on the potty? If I knew what to say I guess Haylee would have already been trained! :)
