Well I had thought that we had reached potty training success~Although she still does use the potty occassionally, it is not as consistent as it was during the first week. I sought advice on one of my favorite mommy sites, Mamasource, about keeping Haylee focused while on the potty. They gave me some ideas, but also warned me that she might stop using the potty and may have to do the training all over again in the future. Turns out they were right. I'm not disappointed in this setback, I recognize that when she is ready she will start again.
On a related note, Ryan heard on the John Tesh Radio show about a lady that does potty training in a day, with a 98% success rate. She claimed that you should never ask your child if they "need to go potty," because it makes the child feel like they are out of control of their own body. As to what you are suppose to say, I guess you either have to hire the lady or buy a book with the name of "potty train your child in a day." I'm guessing you ask if they want to go sit on the potty? If I knew what to say I guess Haylee would have already been trained! :)
