First Foods

We have started Soph on solids now. She's not really sure what to think
about them, and shows us some pretty funny faces. But for the
most part she is liking them, and wanting to try some new ones.
Haylee of course wanted to help, so the real work was trying to make
sure the spoon went into Sophie's mouth, instead of any where else!

Haylee tells me, "I do it, I do it." So I explain that we can "do it" together!

I think Soph is a little perplexed at why so much of the food is on her face,
either that or she is wondering why mommy takes so many pictures! :)

Cuddle time with Bella

Bella loves to cuddle.
I had placed Soph beside me while I was working on school work,
when I noticed Bella laying next to her, so I had to take a picture!
Bella really does love babies~

We have a new addition to our household- though it may not be permanent.
When Ryan's brother moved he was unable to take his cat with him. I refused to let
this cat go to a shelter so we took him in. He is really loving, but still very much a kitten at 5 months. Bella likes cats, but finds this one has too much energy even for her.
When playtime is over they cuddle through the night!

Pretty Toes

Chelsea is my neighbor and she comes over to babysit and to hang out.
She brought her friend Melissa.
They wanted to come over and see the kids, so we were hanging out when
Chelsea asked if I had ever painted their toe nails. No I haven't, in fact I don't even paint my own. So they decided that a girl is never too young to have pretty toes!
You can tell that Sophie is really into it! :)

Tubing Experience

Ryan thought it would be ok to try tubing with Haylee. There
weren't many boats on the lake, and I knew he would drive slow, so I agreed.
After a little while on the lake, GG decided to join us.

Haylee didn't act like she hated it, but she also didn't act like she liked it.
After being on the tube for a while, Ryan took a turn and for whatever reason the front of the
tube went under the water and we all fell off. Haylee of course was scared, and I was scared for her. She was secure with her life jacket, but being unable to put her back on the tube, and being
in the middle of the lake it seemed like forever before Ryan picked her up onto the boat. While I was holding on to her in the water I was trying to reassure her and remained calm. But once we were all on the boat I realized how panicked I was. In fact my hands were shaking for 45 minutes. My mom knew exactly what I was feeling, she just rubbed my back and told me it was all ok.
When I told a few people that story they respond with, "oh well she had her life jacket on, she wasn't going to drown." And I get so frustrated, because I love my child more than words can express and just the thought of her being in danger makes me sick. I think it is important for her to get back on the tube and not be afraid of the water, I just won't want to be there to witness it. Ryan is so much more laid back on such things, I let him do it!
So you would think that my child would be scared and not want to leave my side after such a scare. As soon as we hit the dock she was running around like nothing happened. I'm clutching Sophie, trying to settle my nerves and Haylee is feeding the ducks and laughing. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Norte Dame Visit

On our way up to the Lake, Ryan asked if I would be interested in watching
Norte Dame Football practice. The only open practice to the public was that day,
so we decided to go, even though we knew it would be a quick visit since we had plans to meet up with my parents that evening.
The campus was beautiful, I wish we could have spent more time there.

She walked right up to the camera and said "cheese!"
I guess I take a lot of pictures :)

Haylee would clap and cheer for the team~

Good Ole Charlie!

Girls get together

So after many weeks of trying to get our schedules to work,
we finally got together. Steph and Ella (1yr) Jones, Jen and Brennon (6mth) Omo
and my two girls. It was really neat to see two girls that I hung
out with and lived with now be in the baby stage of life.
When you become a parent your whole perspective changes, as well as the topics of conversation! :)

Brennon has a great smile!
It caught Soph's attention :)

Ella with her cute green Croc's

I can see both her mom and dad in her face~

Best Friends!

Sophie has found her best friends--her fingers!

That's right, she stuffs them as far as they can go.
Good thing is she can never drop them, they are within easy reach, and they always satisfy!
Though she would take any of them when needed, she perfers the index and middle finger on her right hand--those are her favorite!

Dora Big Wheel

GG got Haylee a very special gift-- a Dora Big Wheel!
When I was little I had a Smurf Big Wheel, and it was all mine until my brother got old enough where he wanted to ride it, and I was NOT cool with that. Well we have me on videotape throwing a huge tantrum when my parents took me off the big wheel and put Colin on. So though this may be a toy in the future that causes conflict, at least Haylee can play with it in peace for the next year, or until Sophie is old enough to want to play on it too!

The bike has all sorts of buttons that make noises, and Dora even talks to the rider!
Needless to say Haylee is a big fan of GG right now!

4 months

My bunny is 4 months old!
She has rolled from her back to her belly, she is able to sit up by herself for several seconds, and she is talking (cooing, gurgles, etc) all the time. But best of all she smiles and laughs often! She's 13 pounds and 23 inches long, she's fattening up, just not as much as Haylee did! She's still healthy and very happy.
