Sophia's Birth

Ryan and I went into the Hospital at 6am for the induction. By 7am, they had
started me on the medicine, and the contractions started to regulate. At 10am, my NP said
that I wasn't progressing fast enough, and may be a sign that my body wasn't as ready
as we thought, so there was a chance that I may have to go home. I was really disappointed, and
felt like I couldn't handle another 1.5 weeks with the amount of pain I was experiencing with my tailbone and constant contractions.
I walked the hallways, and tried to stand as often as I could. I can say that contractions
hurt much more while standing than sitting! :) At 2pm, the NP checked me and I was at 3cm, so I had made some progress, enough for her to agree to break my water! By 3pm they broke my water, and that was when I started to need the epidural! Wow, those contractions kicked my butt! I received my drugs and within the hour I progressed from 3cm to 10cm, so I was ready to go. Even though I didn't have any pain during delivery I could feel all the pressure, and tell when I needed to push. I ended up pushing for 8 minutes, which beats the 1:15 that I pushed with Haylee! The whole experience was beautiful. My NP let me call all the shots, like my position of delivery, allowing me to watch via a mirror, and even touching the head during the process. It was amazing!!! So at 4:58pm March 30th, 2008 Miss Sophia Rae made her appearance!

This is the last picture of my belly with Sophie!

I think I was the only one not crying when Sophia got here!

She was wide awake for 3 hours. She was just eager to meet the fam!

They kept running tests on her because she didn't cry, she made little noises. They soon concluded that she just wasn't a crier!
This is my favorite picture! How cute is daddy and daughter!

My dad, Sophie, Haylee, and Mary Kay (Ryan's mom)

Grandma Gracie, otherwise called GG

Aunt Nikki. She got to be apart of the entire experience. She was so funny, because she was just so excited. There is a machine that measures your contractions, and everytime I had one she would say, "oh paige it's a big one, it's a big one!!" And of course I would say, "yeah, I know!" as I'm trying to breath through it! :) We had a good laugh at that!

The Grandma's with their Granddaughters

Haylee meeting baby for the first time!
She wanted to start kissing her right away--it was really neat

Uncle Colin

We have a picture of Colin and Haylee when she is a few days old. He put his hand next to her to show how small she was. In this picture you can see again how tiny Sophia is.

Jen had Brennon on February 1st.

Haylee had a long day so she needed a nap!
