We went to Washington D.C. to celebrate the wedding of my girl from
college--Amy Morris; or as I call her "Amy Jo."

This is a classic Amy Jo smile. It makes me so happy to see her this
happy.

Aren't they so cute in their matching dresses!

After the wedding we went to the
Reston Town Center.
They had restaurants outside, shopping, and had a live band.
It was a beautiful area, it actually reminded me
of my time in Rome. It was a special night.

The following day we went to the National Zoo, and Smithsonian-Natural History.

Ryan and I were taking pictures in front of this fountain.
And when we switch positions, we noticed the White House
in the distance. It was like a "wow" moment because we had
no idea it was that close!
Though we didn't get any closer, we enjoyed seeing it
from a distance.

The Smithsonian was an awesome place to visit.
Definitely on my list of
recommendations.

We thought the Zoo was a bit disappointing...maybe because
the Fort Wayne is one of the best in the nation. (Check out Parent's Mag. May 2009)
So when we saw all the animals in the museum we felt this was what a zoo experience
should be like!
Haylee wasn't sure what to think about a huge elephant
at first, then we told her it was fake, she seemed to be
ok.

The dinosaur was a different story, she didn't care it was dead, she still didn't want to
get close to it.

We looked at all the diamonds they had on display.
She especially liked this one, it was shaped like a butterfly.

After the
museum, we sat down and rested our feet before the long walk
back to the car!

Once we hit the car, the girls were out.
It was a long day of walking and exploring!

Definitely enjoyed our mini vacation (3 days) in Washington.
Amy Jo and Tim will live there, so we will have a free place to stay
next time we want to visit! Good times!!
