Fall is coming!

I love the fall! I love the weather, I love the colors, I love the holidays, I love the football season, I love the pumpkins and corn, the bonfires, I just love it all!!! That is why I wanted to change my background to fall colors. This season always goes too fast. I wish we could skip winter and just have fall. I guess that is what it is like in the warmer states, but I wouldn't know since I have lived in Indiana my whole life. Regardless, Fall is here and though I have no energy due to a little baby on the inside sucking it out of me, and two toddlers taking whatever is left, I feel excited! For me Fall brings hope and comfort. I sound a little "fruity" as my husband would say, but it's my reality and I'm cool with that!

Since I have the energy at the moment I will update you all on what the family is up to. Ryan has a new job as a carpenter at his step-father's company-Hagerman Construction. He is helping to make the Parkview North Hospital. Ryan is not trained as a carpenter, but if you have seen our almost finished basement, our deck, and other features on the house you would know that he is skilled. His goal is within the next several years move up into management while obtaining knowledge about the business. The downside is the weather factor and not being able to work in poor weather, which also means not getting paid. Kind of scares me, ok scares me a lot, but I have to believe that it will work out. He is glad to be working again, and to be heading in a direction that will be beneficial for our family.

As for me, I just graduated with my Masters in Community Counseling and Addictions Counseling. It took me 4 years to complete, but that includes taking breaks for having two babies! I am still taking clients at Family Care Center, but only have a few clients currently. I start my other part-time position at Taylor University the second week of September working as a campus therapist to the students. I worked there as an intern and loved the students and the other staff. It is an hour drive on the highway, but I drove sometimes 3 days a week for 3 years, so the driving doesn't bother me. In fact when I don't have the kids in the car, I love the time alone. My mother-n-law gets me Sirius Radio every year for Christmas and I LOVE it! So the drive is sometimes therapeutic for me! I am also looking for other part-time work, but it is hard to find therapist positions that allow work for only two days (I'm at Taylor Tues, Wed, and Th). I have looked into at home data entry type work so that I do not have to pay for day care, but I can't seem to find anything that is not a scam. So I'm open to any ideas...also looking for child care. The centers are so expensive, and the home based you can never be sure of quality. It's tough to find the right person and the right price, so we are still looking.

Haylee is her usual sweet and sassy self! She can be so good with Sophie, and be such a helper. But then the next minute she tells me "I don't want to," or "I don't have to." Oh and today, "Mommy, you are not being a nice mommy!" Wow, really, are we there already!! Oh but I must have redeemed myself, because later out of nowhere she tells me that I'm a good mommy! Oh the life with another girl in the house! :) Due to needing childcare we are looking into pre-school for Haylee. We think that socially and intellectually she is ready. Now we just have to pull the funds out of the air! If it doesn't happen we are not worried, but we just thought it would be nice if she started soon.
Sophie is nonstop. The child never slows down. I don't remember Haylee being like that, but maybe she was. She is always doing something, eating something, or destroying something.

[OK so after hanging out with my girl Jen Lessing and her son Brennon today (8/26/09) I have no room to say that Sophie is non-stop. Brennon was everywhere, running to one place and then another. It really opened my eyes to how laid back Soph really is. So I must rephrase, Sophie is active and is moving a lot, but by no means non-stop. Just had to clarify!]

Sophie puts EVERYTHING in her mouth, we have to watch her closely. Now I know Haylee was NOT like that. So far Soph hasn't eaten anything too bad, though I'm not a fan of rocks and sand. Sophie is starting to talk a little more. Little words here and there. She probably says more than we know, but is drown out by her sister. Though she is small she is still our eater. She is always hungry and most often eats everything we give her. She loves to do everything Haylee does, which is really funny to watch. She is starting to fight naps and bedtime-which stinks because it used to be so easy.

We are planning to move the girls into the same room once I get closer to having the baby. Haylee is really excited about it. Ryan has talked me into bunk beds, though I have a lot of stipulations- very tall railings on top, each bed must be as low as possible, foam mattress on top to eliminate bouncing, etc. I think there will be positives and negatives to them sharing a room, but I think overall it will be good for both of them.

As for Baby, I do not know how far along I am. Anywhere from 12-14 weeks. Ryan asked why does it matter when it is only two week difference. My answer...I don't know it just does. I have my big ultrasound in a month so that will be able to pin-point the due date, and also show us what we are having! I haven't been AS sick with this one, but I have had sickness none-the-less. I feel more exhausted with this one. Just drained. I'm starting to show a little bit, but no weight gain, if anything I lost a couple of pounds; which is actually normal for my pregnancies.

well I think that sums up life for the family. With Fall coming I hope to take more pictures, you know the cheesy ones of the kids playing in the leaves, etc. Man, I eat that stuff up!! Yep, I'm a dork! So lets hope for a great Fall 2009!
