Home Made Sushi

We are in love with sushi as a family. But it gets expensive, so Ryan decided
to try it ourselves. The problems we have encountered, first we don't know what we are doing.
Secondly, we have been unable to find a market that sells sushi grade salmon which
is my favorite. With those things aside we sought the internet for directions and went to it.

We decided to buy some premade sushi so we have something to
eat while we are making our own.

These are the sauces to make our sushi rolls

These are some of the products we needed

Ryan putting the sushi rice on the seaweed paper

I love the spicy crunchy salmon roll, so we made our own variation:
Spicy tuna roll
The meat to the right is Eel. That is all Ryan and haylee, that
stuff is nasty!
The makings of Ryan's sushi roll

The spicy tuna roll.
Ryan thought he needed to soak the seaweed paper--we know better for next time!

Ryan's Eel roll-though I wouldn't eat it, it looks pretty!

Derek and I definitely went through a sushi-making phase a few years ago, too! We still have a huge pkg of nori in our cupboard:) We never bought sushi-grade raw meat, but I know there's a fish market in Indy that sells it. Yum- I love eel! Where did you get it??
